Web 2.0, Library 2.0: Little bit confused...

So, i was reading through the perspectives on this Library 2.0. and i do actually have a few thought on those perspectives. You may not agree with them, but as i said, just a few random thoughts that popped into my head while reading this newsleter (some perhaps should have stayed in my head and never spoken out loud...).
The first one i looked at was "Away from the icebergs" by Rick Anderson. Now to me this set a pretty high bench mark because honestly i expected these to be a bit on the boring side... Ahem.
Now i think Rick has some valid points, for example when he says that if the patrons are having problems with a service perhaps we should change the service to suit our patrons? Not a bad idea! Though i did find the boat metaphor a bit strange... are we going to hit an iceberg? Titanic anyone?
The next one was "To a temporary place in time" by Dr Wendy Shultz. Let me just say, very strange. Are the big words in there supossed to confuse me? Or was that just a happy by-product? And was it just me or did we as the library staff, in particular the Librarians, almost get promoted to a god-like status? Not complaining, just an observation. Lots of touchy-feely stuff in there, and who is Chad and Miller?
And last but not least "To more powerful ways to cooperate" by Chip Nilges (Awesome name!) This one i didn't understand one bit of except who is OCLC or what is it?
Honestly couldn't be bothered to find answers to any of those questions because i'm having a lazy day, but hey maybe later.

Interesting comments...sometimes I think some people get wound up in their own descriptiveness (if there is such a word) of things, they forget that the audience may not have a clue what the are trying to say??
We live in a world of jargon..and libraries are not exception.
Keep up th egood work
